报告人简介：

  刘桂荣 (GR Liu) 教授于1991年在日本东北大学 (Tohoku University)获得博士学位，1991-1993在美国西北大学 (Northwestern University)从事博士后研究工作，目前是美国辛辛那提大学航空航天学院教授，俄亥俄州杰出学者(Ohio Eminent Scholar)，国际计算力学协会执委，亚太区计算力学协会秘书长，国际期刊International Journal of Computational Methods主编，Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering (IPSE)副主编，以及International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering (IJNME)及其他5个国际期刊的编委。

  刘桂荣教授是国际计算力学领域，尤其是无网格方法研究方面的著名学者，创立了新的G空间理论，提出了弱弱(W2)形式的建模方法，引领了从H空间理论到G空间理论的转变和从传统弱形式到弱弱形式建模方法的跨越，开辟了计算方法和理论研究的新领域。

  刘桂荣教授目前已发表SCI论文300余篇，并撰写多本学术著作，如“Mesh Free Method: moving beyond the finite element method” 和 “Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics: a Meshfree Particle Methods”等。他曾获得的学术奖项有：Singapore Defence Technology Prize, NUS Outstanding University Researcher Award, the APACM Computational Mechanics Awards, the ICACM Computational Mechanics Awards, the JSME Computational Mechanics Awards from JSME, the ASME Ted Belytschko Applied Mechanics Award等。
