Between 2006 and 2010, the TIMODAZ European project has investigated the coupled thermal-hydro-mechanical (THM) effects in clay formations that are being studied as potential host rocks for geological disposal of radioactive waste.
The International Post-TIMODAZ Workshop, that will take place at the Mont Terri rock laboratory (in Switzerland) next 6-7 February 2012, is organized to present the main TIMODAZ results; to present other contributions in the area of the THM analysis of nuclear waste disposal systems; to foster informal discussions and exchanges on THM issues in clays host rocks.
Part of the program is dedicated to external contributions and poster sessions. Contributions can include the characterization of host rock materials, the description and analysis of underground laboratory experiments, microstructural and multiscale analysis, constitutive and numerical modeling and long-term behaviour.
A web site is open to diffuse this information and to provide you practical organization issues: full program, important dates, registration, hotel list with link, location plan, access description, etc.
