The 23rd International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ICTAM2012) will be held in Beijing, China in August 2012. As usual, the Congress Committee has chosen a wide range of topics, covering the entire field of Mechanics, to be the subjects of Pre-Nominated Sessions (PNS).Professors Carl Herakovich and Romesh C. Batra have been asked to co-chair the PNS *Damage Mechanics*.

Acknowledged experts in this field are encouraged to contribute to the Congress. Kindly submit a paper, to be presented in either a Lecture Session (occupying a 20-minute slot, including discussion) or a Seminar Presentation Session (a 5-minute presentation slot plus the opportunity to display a poster). The submission, prepared according to the instructions given on the website /www.ictam2012.org /, should reach the Congress Office no later than 19 January, 2012; 24:00 China time.
